The LAFT Berlin (Landesverbands freie darstellende Künste Berlin e.V.) represents the interests of Berlin's professional independent performing artists. In its newsletter, which can be subscribed to via the LAFT website, it provides information on cultural policy news and issues relating to the independent scene, among other things.

The Performing Arts Programme Berlin is a programme of the LAFT Berlin funded by the Senate. It combines a mentoring programme for newcomers to the independent performing arts, an advisory service, a central marketing office, a marketing competition and a scene meeting.

IETM is a membership-based information and lobbying platform for international networking of independent theatre practitioners with theatres and festivals. Forms of musical theatre remain marginally included. IETM has over 500 member organisations and freelance theatre artists from over 50 countries. The Initiative Neue Musik Berlin e. V. (INM) is a cultural-political forum for New Music in Berlin, founded and financed by the Berlin Senate Cultural Administration. Its funding activities focus on supporting innovative event formats, advising musicians and ensembles and bringing together the players in the local cultural scene. Music Theatre NOW is an international competition for new music theatre . It takes place every three years on the basis of submissions of complete video recordings. Winners are invited to present their work to curators and festival organisers at the Music Theatre NOW Meeting. Selected productions are invited to guest performances by affiliated festivals worldwide.

The Fonds Experimentelles Musiktheater is an initiative to promote new forms of music theatre in the field of municipal theatre. It is supported by the NRW KULTURsekretariat and the Kunststiftung NRW. Teams of theatre-makers can apply to work at theatres that have been put out to tender. The projects focus on process-oriented work with several rehearsal phases and presentations within a period of two seasons.
